MD in Pulmonary Medicine is a 2-year postgraduate degree program; the minimum eligibility is MBBS from a recognized school board or its equivalent exam. Admission to M.D. in Pulmonary Medicine depends on the basis of candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance exam, and ensuing round of counseling. MD in Pulmonary Medicine is a study of medical science that deals with the prevention, cause, and treatment of problems in lungs and its related area. During the program, the candidates learn about diagnostics and treatments, for example, bronchodilator, inhalers etc. The course is beneficial to train pulmonary physicians, physician-scientists, and pre- and post-doctoral basic scientists in physiology, cell biology, and molecular biology of the respiratory system. The course includes the whole range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures associated with the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine: flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy with all ancillary procedures, endotracheal intubation, arterial and central venous line placement, thoracentesis and closed pleural biopsy, bedside pulmonary artery catheterization as well as chest tube placement. MD in Pulmonary Medicine course is suitable to provide optimal clinical care and apply basic, clinical, and translational research discoveries to understanding the pathogenesis of lung diseases and improving treatment.
