Us
The
College of Nursing is a new institution under the umbrella of Manohar Hill
Charitable Trust.The trust is a symbol of benevolence and compassion for
suffering fellow being and is a bold experiment of social service, which was,
founded in 1964 by late Mr. P. Geevarghese a Kottayam Industrialist.Based on
personal conviction and Philosophy of its founder that "man is only a
custodian of God's money, various institutions were established by trust for
social service and to contribute to welfare and development of community in
health, education and allied fields. The College of Nursing is the youngest
institution under the trust, which is being established and planned to be
developed as a prestigious institution under the trust. The College is named
after the saintly bishop Theophilus, who was an inspiring force and promoter of
M.G.D.M. HOSPITAL and other trust institutions. Theophilus college of Nursing
commenced functioning in 2002 and is recognised by Kerala Nurse's &
Midwives council, Indian Nursing Council and is affiliated to Kerala University
of Health Sciences (KUHS). IVth Batch B.Sc Nsg students have completed course
in 2011 and has passed with 100% results.
College
Building
A
multistoried permanent building is completed and the building is already
occupied. The building is well planned which an architectural splendor is
offering about 50,000 sq. ft space. The building now has all necessary
facilities for B.Sc. Nursing course and also an administrative wing. The
facilities provided in the building are listed: Lecture Halls, Seminar Hall, Fundamentals
of Nursing Laboratory, Community Health Nursing Laboratory, Nutrition
Laboratory, Maternal & Child Health Laboratory, Computer laboratory ,Anatomy
Museum, Audio Visual Aids Room, Principal's Office, Vice Principal' Office, Administrative
Office, Office of P.A to Principal, Conference Hall, Seminar Hall, Faculty
Rooms (Dept. wise),Student's common room(Women), Student’s common room(Men), Library,
Mini Auditorium cum examination hall, Lobby, Room for maintenance staff,
Landscaped garden.

Campus
Campus
is planned in an adjacent campus of the main hospital campus. It is a spacious
campus of 7 ВЅ acres of which five acres of lands is set apart for Nursing
College. There are ample facilities in the campus for future expansion
including residential facilities for students, staff etc.
The
campus has a large stadium and open-air auditorium, which can be used for the
recreational facilities of the student.
The
campus is situated in a natural hill, which is very quiet, free from all types
of pollution and disturbance, which is conducive to academic atmosphere.

We
have arranged a variety of modern educational technologies for facilitating
learning of nursing students and to be on par with the modern technological
developments and scientific advancements. The Audio visual aids includes:

Library
We
have a well-equipped library with a qualified full time librarian. We have more
than 2870 books in our library. In addition we have arranged for subscription
of Indian and foreign Journals in Nursing. At present we are subscribing 25
national and international journals. In addition to this, we have a good
library in the hospital with lot of books and medical journals.
