Overview
B.Pharm.
in Ayurveda is a 4-year full-time graduate course divided into 8 semesters.
Ayurveda or Ayurvedic science deals with the study of health care, covering a
broad area of good living & wellness. Ayurveda is not only a medical
science, but the ‘Science of life’. The job of an Ayurvedic professional is
challenging, with the wide range of incurable diseases newly emerging every
day, and failure of other systems of medicine in curing them, specially the
allopathic branch of medicine. Ayurveda is India's traditional and natural
system of medicine that has been in practice for more than 5,000 years. This
course provides an integrated approach to preventing and treating illnesses
through lifestyle interventions and natural therapies. As per Ayurveda, all
diseases begin with an imbalance or stress in the individual's consciousness.
Ayurveda focuses on a preventive and therapeutic approach.
The
practice of Ayurveda is founded on the theory of ‘Tridosha’, that all life can
be expressed in terms of the primary elements of air, land, fire, and water. The
imbalance of such elements brings about illness. For restoring these balances,
the discipline employs several natural therapies such as massage, nutrition
plans, aromatherapy, exercise yoga, colour therapy, music, meditation and
ethical living. Ayurvedic medicine is holistic, viewing the body and mind as a
whole. This course not only treats a person's physical complaints, but also
changes lifestyle practices to help maintain or improve health. According to
Ayurveda, the five elements of nature combine in the body as three components,
known as Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha. A balance of these doshas is thought to be
required for optimal health.
Enrolled
students are taught the origins of Ayurvedic medicine in the ancient healing
system based on six philosophies that strive to achieve a balance between self
and nature. This course examines the essence and terminology of concepts of
Ayurveda, covering its history, evolution, ideology, and practices. The course

Ayurveda
Doctors need to be familiar on an advanced level with all applied aspects of
the modern medical sciences, along with knowledge of the axiomatic science of
Ayurveda which is originally in Sanskrit. Increasingly complicated drug
resistance, side effects, and the growing number of autoimmune disorders have
resulted in a variety of ailments.
There
is an upsurge in idiopathic, non-communicable, and lifestyle-based diseases and
ailments currently. Ayurveda includes safe and side effect-free medicines in
