Diploma in
Interior Design is a 1-year basic level certificate course in the domain of
interior designing. The course is offered to aspirants who have completed
their 10+2 or equivalent level education from a recognized board/institute.
Those who have done a diploma after class 10th as a part of 10 +3 pattern of
education can also apply for admission to the course.

in Interior Design: What is it about?
Designing is
an art of structuring and arrangement of things in a manner so as to reflect
synchronization and authenticity of the designed area in consonance with its
surrounding. Designing has been a crucial area of study and application as seen
construction, decoration, tourism, film, and TV industry.
Over the
years there has been a need for professionals specialized in the skills of
designing indoor areas or setups rather than traditional construction designer
or architects. This demand of industry led to the categorization of interior
designing as a separate academic program that can be offered to students at the
different level.
Diploma in
Interior Design is accustomed to the fundamental needs of the industry and
tries to maintain a supply and demand mechanism in case of industrial demands
and delivering of qualified professionals. The course provides a comprehensive
outlook of the subject to the students so that they can withstand the demand of
application in the industry as well as they should be able to build on this
knowledge base at the advanced level of study in the respective domain.
Diploma
in Interior Design: Eligibility
Candidate
must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent level examination with at least 50%
(40% to 45% for reserved category candidates) of the marks from a recognized
state or central board
He/She shall
not be having any backlog or compartment in any of the subject/subjects at
class 12th or equivalent level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking
admissions.
Apart from
the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges/institutes may have
their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in
order to take admission.
In case of
reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation
certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits
applicable to them.
Certain
Institutes grant admissions through Entrance Test (ET). To get admission in
these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam
by securing minimum qualifying marks.
