MA Journalism & Mass Communication gives training to the students in both technical skills and critical analysis of the media spectrum. It is a postgraduate course of 2 years duration. The course includes the study of mass media such as newspapers, magazines, cinema films, radio, television etc in order to convey information to the audience.

MA Journalism & Mass Communication: What is it About?

MA Journalism & Mass Communication is a study of different means of communication by which individuals can convey the information to the large segment of the population through mass media. The course generally provides teaching and training regarding reporting, writing, editing, photographing etc.

Students can opt. for specializations in various fields of journalism such as Sports Journalism, Science Journalism, Environment Journalism, Fashion Journalism, Film Making, Advertising, Corporate communications etc.

Eligibility for MA Journalism & Mass Communication

Following is the minimum eligibility criteria required for the candidates interested in pursuing course the course:

  • Applicants must possess Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in it.
  • Some of the reputed institutes and universities also conduct an entrance examination to get admission in MA (Journalism & Mass Communication)
  • Student’s proficiency in English communication is also a plus point for getting admission in the course.

MA Journalism & Mass Communication: Admission Process

Admission in the course is strictly done on the basis of marks secured by the candidate in an entrance test conducted by the particular college. On the basis of candidates score obtained in written test, shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Student’s final selection depends on their scores in written test, Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Marks in Graduation. Admission process varies according to the different colleges.
