Overview
Master of Architecture
in Sustainable Architecture is a two-year full-time course. The key objective
of the programme is to to develop skills, knowledge and understanding related
to environmental sustainability, construction and building technology, adopting
the principles and practices of sustainable building design, while responding to
environmental challenges such as Climate change, environmental degradation etc.
The
course offers a contextualized and deep understanding of sustainability in
architecture. Study moves from the broad aspects of Man and Environment, energy
and climate zones, through alternative materials and technologies for
sustainability, urban sustainability issues, to the specifics of energy and
environmental assessment. Waste management, Intelligent buildings, Eco cities,
Passive & active solar strategies for energy conservation will be explored
along the way. Throughout the course students are encouraged to challenge
existing orthodoxies and to explore potential, cultural and technical responses
to a changing world, whilst respecting the limits posed by our ecosystem.
An
architecture Masters with sustainability at its core, the course focuses on how
sustainability can be thought about in the design process in order to create
buildings that are functional and sustainable as well as aesthetically
pleasing.This highly practical course allows you to combine design-based
academic study with hands-on learning, expanding your critical awareness of
current architectural and environmental problems to develop new insights.
Eligibility
Any
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) passed students from a recognized university
are eligible for M.Arch Degree course. B.Arch final year appearing candidates
can also apply.
The
eligible candidates need to acquire a minimum of 50% in the entrance
examination.
Some
Institutes require an aptitude test and an Interview for admission into the
Master of Architecture degree.

entrance examination, such as GATE, CEED, TANCET etc.
