Overview

MDS in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry is a 3 year postgraduate degree program, the minimum eligibility for which is BDS from a recognized College or Institute.

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) with specialization in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry is a post-graduation program in the field of Dentistry. It manages the entire oral health needs of a child from his birth to his adolescence. Applicants get training for instructional connection and even get the introduction to a wide range of real-life clinical situations through this program. It is essentially an age-defined speciality to satisfy both far-reaching and essential remedial and preventive oral health care needs of infants and children.

The program begins with basics of Physiology and Anatomy. It instructs about Pathology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Microbiology as a basic part. Candidates must be able to comprehend or understand child behaviour, nervousness and anxiety and be able to impart and oversee children demonstrating apprehension and moderately disruptive behaviour utilizing behavioural and pharmacotherapeutic strategies and furthermore determinations and plan appropriate therapy for basic oral health issues and problems in children. They might be in charge of ordering supplies, scheduling appointments, discussing billing with patients, and numerous general office tasks. After completion of this program, students willing to continue their studies may go for PhD.

 Eligibility 

Applicants who have finished their BDS with at least 55% marks from any of the recognized institute and university are eligible for this program. The age criteria required should be checked by students before submitting the application form. Candidates must have completed a 1-year internship before pursuing this course.
