Overview

M.Phil. in Hindi or Master of Philosophy in Hindi is a postgraduate research course in Hindi. The course can be called a mirror equivalent of Ph.D. but is different from it in certain aspects. Many colleges offer this course in an integrated form with Ph.D. also. The course duration is generally 2 years but can be more if distance education is pursued. When the M.Phil.-Ph.D. integrated course is pursued, the M.Phil. duration is supposed to be 1 year.

 

Master of Philosophy or M.Phil. in Hindi is an advanced postgraduate research degree which offers students an opportunity to research on the Hindi language and literature. This course enables students to learn the intricate details of Hindi language; it also enables them to research the methodologies of Hindi Literature and study Drama, Fiction and Literature eras in detail, thereby, presenting a view through research.  Eligibility

The minimum eligibility for admission to M.Phil in Hindi is Masters in Hindi with at least 55%. The masters should have been done from a recognized college. While almost all of the colleges require 55% in post graduation for the application process,

Admission Process

The admission procedure in colleges is mostly based on merit-cum-aptitude tests. Most of the colleges arrange entrance test and interview for admission in M.Phil. in Hindi. The students are given admission on the basis of written test and interview along with their previous educational qualifications.

After the results of the entrance exam are declared, a selected few candidates are called for an interview. The interview panel may be of 2-4 persons, who question a candidate on their intent to study Hindi Literature and their hands-on knowledge of the subject. The final selection of candidates for admission is made on the basis of their performance in the entrance test, the interview, and their marks in the qualifying examination.
