M.Sc. Applied Geology  is a 2 year full-time post-graduation program for the study of geological science. Clearing graduation degree in any relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and above deems the qualifying criteria for the program.

Along with qualifying graduation degree, candidates are also required to clear the entrance examination as prescribed by universities and institutions. Computing the marks secured in the entrance examination and degree level together, the merit percentage of the program will be calculated. The admissions are done solely on merit list basis to gain entry to the course. The program explores the study of Earth and the processes involved in the changes taking place on the planet.

This program eases the task of civil engineers in framing the structure of bridges, dams, buildings, etc.

Applied Geology is a comprehensive study of understanding the nature of our planet, the changes, morphology which takes place and its effect on human life. In order to take up this program, candidates are required to possess the knack of understanding complex processes thereby applying their knowledge in a logical manner. They are trained to conduct individual investigations, study the rock and sand quality, analyze the changes happening in climate, prepare statistics and give a broader perspective on these subjects.

The eligibility criteria for availing to the program of M.Sc. Applied Geology are as follows:

·         Candidates who have completed their graduation in any relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and above or equivalent CGPA can seek admission to the course.

·         Applicants will have to clear the entrance examination held by various reputed institutions and universities.

M.Sc. Applied Geology: Admission Process

Aspirants who wish to seek admission to the program are required to meet the prescribed criteria as set by the university. Applicants are required to qualify their Bachelor’s degree in any relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and above. In addition, they are also required to clear the entrance examination held by various reputed institutions and universities for admission to the program which will be notified by the college at the time of admission.

Admission to the program is solely done on the basis of merit list which is computed on the final marks calculated after the entrance examination and degree percentage. However, this is subject to differ for different colleges and institutions.
