M.Sc. Environmental Science is a 2-year full-time postgraduate course divided into 4 semesters. Candidates enrolled to the course have the option of specializing in many different areas such as Engineering, Ecology, Biology Conservation, and Chemistry. Professionals of the field generally work in areas related to locating and protecting the earth’s resources, waste management, and in capacities such as Environmental Engineer, Conservationist, and the like.
M.Sc. Environmental Science program aims to produce trained professionals who are equipped to deal with the scientific, legal, socio-economic, technological, and policy-based concerns related to environment and resource management. The curriculum has been designed essentially on the concept of sustainable development in an inter-disciplinary framework, with emphasis on research and application.
The course aims to address the growing need for competent professionals in society for applying most effective management practices drawn from various disciplines to create innovative solutions for a sustainable future. M.Sc. Environmental Science program also aims to develop a holistic approach to environmental and resource-based problems in students from diverse academic, cultural, and professional backgrounds.

The admission process for the course is varied, as various institutes have their very own criteria and processes of admission. Admission to the course is often based on the candidate’s performance at the level of graduation, and often, on performance in a relevant online entrance test and interview conducted by the concerned university/institute.
The online test is generally an hour long and consists of multiple-choice questions assessing students based on proficiency in English, Analytical Reasoning, and Quantitative ability.
