student learn to identify and describe the microscopic and macroscopic anatomy
of the structures involved in the above body systems. To also describe the
various tools used in health care and how they are used in the diagnosis and
cure of pathological conditions and to demonstrate an understanding of the
relationship between anatomy and physiology by using anatomical knowledge to
predict physiological consequences.
Medical
instruments come in various materials, shapes, and sizes. The materials
and design affect their cleanability. Instruments with long, narrow lumens,
hinges, and crevices present a greater challenge to the cleaning process than
solid planar instruments.
A medical

patients and helping patients overcome sickness or disease, improving their
quality of life. Significant potential for hazards are inherent when
using a device for medical purposes and thus medical devices must be proved
safe and effective with reasonable assurance before regulating governments

associated risk of the device increases the amount of testing required to
establish safety and efficacy also increases. Further, as associated risk
increases the potential benefit to the patient must also increase.
