Pharm. D.
(Post Baccalaureate) is a 3-year professional post-graduate course in the
discipline of Pharmacy, open for pursuance by eligible graduates of Pharmacy,
completed from an institute recognized by the PCI.
The course
includes 1 compulsory year of residency or internship as well. The course is
divided across two phases, of which the first phase includes theoretical study,
and the second includes a residency/ internship program to be completed by
enrolled students.
During the
phase of internship, candidates are imparted advanced lessons in clinical
pharmacy services or pharmacy practice under the supervision of faculty
members.

Pharm. D.
(Post baccalaureate) is one of the new courses introduced to the Indian
pharmaceutical education. Pharmacy is essentially about:

clinical abilities and knowledge of medicines.
Eligibility
for Pharm. D. (Post Baccalaureate)
·
Candidates
wishing to apply for the course need to fulfil the following eligibility
criteria
·
Bachelor
of Pharmacy completed from a university recognized by the Pharmacy Council of
India (PCI).
·
A
minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of
graduation.
·
Candidates
awaiting their graduation-level examination’s results are also eligible to
apply on provisional basis.

D. (Post Baccalaureate): Admission Process
Most
institutes offering the course admit students based on their performance in a
relevant entrance test. Some institutes also admit students based on the
candidate’s obtained merit at the level of graduation, while some conduct their
own entrance tests for offering admission. Admission process generally varies
across colleges.
