Diploma in
Orthopaedics is a 2 years full time graduate course which is divided into 4
semesters. Orthopaedics is a field of medicine that is connected with
specialists dealing with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
Graduates in this field of medicine uses both non-surgical and surgical means
for treating congenital disorders, tumours, infections, degenerative diseases,
sport injuries and musculoskeletal trauma. The goal of this course is to
address the outpatient care of common musculoskeletal problems by primary care
providers. This course highlights the role of an orthopaedic technician in
ensuring a clean and sterile environment. They are introduced to invasive and
non-invasive procedures in a lab setting. Some topics also include aseptic
techniques and implementation with emphasis on skills students need to assist
an orthopaedic surgeon with procedures. This study provides students with a
foundation in the basic principles and history of radiology. They gain general
understanding of the production of diagnostic images through MRIs, x-rays, and
other radiographic technologies relevant to all orthopaedic technician courses.

colleges and any other private college in India for that matter, students must
have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Medicine called as MBBS course from
an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India. Some colleges or
institutions require that candidates must have completed their compulsory
internship after MBBS before the classes commence for diploma in Orthopaedics
after admission.
