Overview
Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation is a 2-year Post Graduate (PG) Diploma program that
deals with physiotherapy of Medicine and rehabilitation. It majorly focuses on
treating patients who suffer from amputation, spinal cord injury, stroke,
traumatic pain, brain injury, and other related debilitating injuries. The
eligibility criteria for admission into PG Diploma in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
course is a degree in MBBS from a
recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in
case of SC/ST candidates). Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation course deals with the process of training medical
graduates in the field of anatomical science so that they can become eligible
to practice on human bodies. The subject requires students to have knowledge of
physical impairments/disabilities so that they can emphasize on optimizing the
functionality and performance of the effected part through proper medication
and rehabilitation.
The
course deals with in-depth analysis of patient care, clinical care, clinical
rehabilitation, timely medication, and epidemiological and environment related
factors of diseases. The aim of the course is to create a skilled medical
practitioner out of a medical graduate. The scope and functional area of the
course are quite wide and encompasses the whole of the human body without going
in for specific detailed analysis of one single organ or aspect of the human
bodily structure.
Eligibility

Candidate
must have completed MBBS from a recognized central/state university.

A
minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) at the graduation
(MBBS level) is required.

Candidate
must have passed the final year exams before the commencement of the course
(For final year MBBS candidates only).

Candidates
must satisfy all other eligibility criteria’s as revised by the college and
University from time to time.

of medical course offered by both private as well as government medical
colleges across India.
