Established in 2010, Azim Premji University is a not-for-prot university that is recognised by
the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university wants to make a signicant
contribution to society through education.
The university was started with elementary education in various government schools all over
India in early 2000. It has committed and qualied individuals who contribute towards bringing
an equitable, humane and sustainable society.
The university provides the students to programmes related to education, economics,
