Obstetrics
and Gynecology are two surgical–medical specialties dealing with the female
reproductive organs in their pregnant and non-pregnant states, respectively,
and as such are often combined to form a single medical specialty and
postgraduate training program. The course includes Obstetrics Pathology,
Gynecological Pathology, Operative Obstetrics & Gynecology, Medical &
Surgical Diseases, Complication in Obstetrics & Gynecology , Social
Obstetrics & Gynecology , Abnormal Pregnancies, Common Disorders & Systemic
Diseases Associated with Pregnancy, Common Obstetrical Operations, Infant Care,
Neonatal hygiene, Breast feeding, Artificial feeding, Management of premature
child, Asphyxia, Birth injuries, Common Disorders of Newborns etc. The duration
of the course is 2 years, and it is career- oriented in nature.
Eligibility
As
a minimum criterion of eligibility, candidates aspiring for admission to the
course need to have attained an M.B.B.S. degree with a minimum aggregate score
of 50%. A few universities and institutes in India also conduct entrance
examinations for candidates’ assessment and evaluation.

test conducted in the online mode, followed by the student’s assessment in a
round of counseling. In other cases, admissions are based on the candidate’s
